Precision Lapidaries is a venture founded by Faiq Rehan Salie and Nilam Alawdeen. Initially, Faiq learned the art of cutting and valuing Sapphires under the guidance of his father, Tilly Salie. Then, he fine-tuned his skills in calibrated Sapphire cutting during his tenure at Precious Trades with Nilam Alawdeen.
Faiq was agile to market changes and positioned himself as a global leader in producing high-quality calibrated gemstones with an exceptional cut and value, catering to top-end designer jewelry houses and watch companies the world over. He has progressed to earn an international reputation as a benchmarked and sort-after Lapidarist.
Along the process, he also forged partnerships with prominent global buyers and miners from the source in the colored Gemstone Industry, which is apart from the gem mines owned by him. Faiq continues to drive the industry to new heights, demonstrating exceptional entrepreneurship. He now has two state of the art Lapidaries with a workforce of over 200 gem designers. His companies have won many top export awards in Sri lanka and a global leader in calibrated and fine gemstones.
